We know that life isn't meant to be lived alone. Having friends, mentors, and supporters is a key component of the life God has in store for you. So at Wahoo First UMC, we have plenty of opportunities to connect you to others. In doing that, we believe you'll connect better to God, too. Below are a few ways to connect to others in our church. We have opportunities for children, youth, and adults. We know that you'll find the place you belong here.
Check out the ways children (ages 0 to 5th grade) and youth (5th-12th grade) can connect to God and one another at our church. Some of these ministries take place on Sunday mornings, while others are throughout the week. Some are ongoing events, others are one-time events.
During the school year (September-May), our Sunday school runs during the 9:00 Praise service and engages children and youth. Lessons are biblical and relevant to their lives, and we equip parents to engage with their children throughout the week about what they've learned in Sunday school.

Friends in Faith is Wahoo First UMC's after-school ministry. Each Wednesday, our team of caring, passionate volunteers engages elementary school students with games, activities, a lesson, and snacks. This grant-winning ministry is one way we are building the next generation of faithful disciples.

On Wednesday evenings, our youth group meets at the church for various activities, worship, games, and lessons. Every month they do a service project that makes a difference in the community and shares a faithful witness.

For their most recent mission trip, our youth group went to South Dakota to do some repairs at the United Methodist Storm Mountain Center and attend the Hills Alive Christian music festival in Rapid City.

We know that disciples never graduate. So we have several opportunities for adults to connect to each other and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Most of these groups meet regularly, unless they say otherwise.
We have several groups meeting regularly in homes, coffee shops, the church, etc., where members challenge one another to learn and grow in their faith. Most of these groups are establishes based on affinity, but some are open to new members.

Every Monday, a group from our church supports a local restaurant in Wahoo for lunch and fellowship. Many of them go from Lunch Bunch to our South Haven worship service.
To find out where the Lunch Bunch is this week, contact the church office.
For those of you early birds, Walkers 'n' Talkers is a group that meets at the church every Thursday morning at 7:00am. If the weather is nice, they circle the blocks around the church; and if not, they walk inside the church. If you're up and out the door by 7:00am, check out this group!
Senior Moments is the placed to be if you are 65+ and looking for fun and community! This group doesn't take themselves too seriously, but instead plans fun activities all around the state of Nebraska. Check out our Events page or call the church office to find out when Senior Moments is going out again!
OASIS ("Outreach and Support, Inspiration, and Song") is our monthly outreach worship service and fellowship meal. On the last Wednesday of each month, we gather for a themed event with worship at 6:30pm and a fellowship dinner at 7:00pm. Everyone in the community is welcome at this free gathering, so come join us! We don't meet every month, so check out our OASIS page for upcoming events!
