FRIENDS IN FAITH

Friends in Faith is our after-school ministry, where we show elementary children around our community the love that God has for them, through games, activities, lessons, and fun. We meet on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00pm in the church, where our volunteers have awesome games and events planned each week. Friends in Faith is open to any child in kindergarten-5th grade and is absolutely free!

Check out a few highlights from our recent activities in the gallery below. Or, check out more of our activities on our Facebook page. If you are interested in registering your child for Friends in Faith, or if you are interested in volunteering with us, read more below!

REGISTER YOUR CHILD

Your child will have a blast at Friends in Faith!

We provide a safe, fun atmosphere for your child to play with other children, do meaningful crafts and activities, and hear positive messages and stories.

Friends in Faith is absolutely free, but you do need to register your child beforehand. Wahoo Elementary students can ride the school bus after school to the bus stop at 9th & Beech, where our volunteers will greet them and walk the two blocks to the church.

VOLUNTEER with us!

Friends in Faith isn't possible without dedicated, passionate volunteers!

We have a great team in place now, but we always need new people to take the leap and volunteer. From leading games and activities, to preparing snacks, to being a friendly helper, there is a place for you.

All volunteers go through the Safe Gatherings training (read more below) for abuse prevention among children, youth, and vulnerable adults. The church can help you complete this application and training.

If you are ready to help make Friends in Faith great, let us know!

Safe Gatherings Approved

At Wahoo First UMC, all of our volunteers who regularly interact with children, youth, or vulnerable adults are certified through Safe Gatherings, which includes abuse prevention training and a comprehensive background check.

We care about the well-being and emotional, physical, and spiritual health of everyone in our church, especially children. So with Safe Gatherings, we have a system in place to ensure that well-being.
