Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wahoo First UMC has changed its worship, ministries, and operations. This page will be updated as new information becomes available and the church makes new decisions.

On June 2, the church's Administrative Council made an announcement about a tentative date for our Re-Emerge Sunday. Click here to read that announcement.

On March 22, in-person worship was suspended on the guidelines from officials from our state, nation, and denomination.

However, we are still worshiping! Every Sunday morning at 9:00am, a worship video goes live on our church's Facebook page and YouTube channel. Watching the video premiere on Facebook, you are able to interact with other members of our church family in real-time. If you have a Smart TV, you can watch our worship on YouTube on your TV!

In addition to our main Sunday morning worship, we have a Morning Prayer Service on Monday and Thursday mornings at 8:30am through Facebook Live. Like us on Facebook to receive notifications about these services.

discipleship & fellowship

Even though we are not able to gather together like we're used to, we are still engaged in discipleship and fellowship!

In particular, we have started a Zoom Bible study to engage our members in a study of Scripture while also letting us interact with our church family virtually. Right now, we offer a Zoom Bible study on 1 Corinthians that meets:

  • Tuesday mornings at 10:00am
  • Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm

Click here to register for that study!

In this time, we are able to continue our ministries of worship, discipleship, and mission through the support of generous members of our faith family. For most, this has meant mailing checks to the church office. We are excited to announce a new way to support our church financially!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Nebraska United Methodist Foundation, we have been able to set up an online giving platform through Vanco Payment Solutions! With this, we are able to give electronically either one-time or on a recurring basis, from either a checking account or credit card.

If you feel led to support the church with a financial gift, consider using this new platform. Click here, and you will be taken to our website, which will take you to the giving platform. This is a simpler, but no less intentional, way to support the church and practice generosity.

building operations

Due to guidance from state, local, and denominational officials, we are limiting the operations of our church building. The Church Office is open by appointment only, so please call us at (402) 443-4219 if you would like to come by.

Additionally, committees, small groups, and other gatherings are encouraged to meet virtually. If you would like assistance setting up a Zoom meeting for your group, please call the Church Office at (402) 443-4219.
