SUNDAY Worship

Worship is who we are. As humans, we are drawn to worship someone or something. That is, there is someone or something we give ultimate value or allegiance to. As Christians, we worship the God who created us, loves us, and constantly invites us into a transforming relationship.

At Wahoo First UMC, that worship is primarily expressed through our Sunday worship service. Beginning at 10:30am in our Sanctuary, this service offers praise to God through singing, praying, hearing God's Word, and responding to it.  Read more below about this service, and if it will be your first time worshiping with us, get even more information on our I'm New Here page.

Music

The music in our Sunday worship service brings together multiple elements: popular worship anthems, classic hymns that have stood the test of time, and occasional special music pieces. The music is designed to help you connect to God easily, which you can do either by singing along or reflecting prayerfully over the words.

The music of the service creates a laid-back atmosphere that lets you worship how you feel most comfortable.

If you have a suggestion for a song for worship, let us know, and you might just hear it one Sunday morning!

Message

Each week, Pastor Michael brings a message that is both biblical and applicable to your life. We believe that the sermon is one of the best opportunities for you to hear and feel God's Spirit and be transformed by it.

Most Sundays, our sermons are organized into series that multiply the impact of any one sermon. These series track closely to Scripture, in addition to the church calendar or what is happening in the world.

Holy Communion

At Wahoo First UMC, we celebrate Holy Communion regularly. Usually, that means on the first Sunday of the month.

In United Methodist fashion, everyone is welcome to receive Communion. You do not have to be a member of our church, or any church for that matter. You don't need to do anything in return; we believe Christ sets the Communion Table and welcomes everyone without condition.

We have a gluten-free option for anyone with a non-gluten/gluten-sensitive diet. We use unfermented grape juice instead of wine, realizing that Communion should not be a source of temptation for those in recovery from alcohol addiction.

We want nothing more than for you to join us with Christ in Communion!
